SiS: an international project for 4th formers | 28-08-2015

Claudia Callies
Have you always wanted to know more about the universe? About stars and planets, and how we discovered that the universe is expanding? Are you interested in exoplanets? Would you like to be able to discover one? If your answer to any one of these questions is yes, the Science in Space project (SiS) is just the thing you are looking for.

16 pupils from the 4th form of each school will participate. The project consists of two parts. The first part will take place in Leiden. We will host our guests from Germany from Sunday 15 November until Wednesday 18 November 2015. The second part will take place in Münster. Pupils from Leiden will visit Münster from Sunday 10 April until Wednesday 13 April 2016. The costs of the project will be € 120 per participant. This amount includes the costs of transportation to Münster.

You qualify as a potential participant in the SiS project if:
• you are currently a pupil in 4th form;
• you like physics and mathematics;
• these two subjects (physics and mathematics B) are part of your current curriculum.

If you wish to participate, please send a letter of application (in English) by e-mail to Ms Callies (c.callies@gymnasiumleiden.nl) and Ms Van der Voort (c.vandervoort@gymnasiumleiden.nl) before Monday, 7 September 2015. This letter of application should contain: • your motivation to participate in the project;
• the subjects of your current curriculum;
• whether or not you have applied for (an)other international project(s), and, if so, for which one(s).
